Based in the Prattville and Montgomery, Alabama, area, we are happy to travel up to an hour for your session or work with professional photographs you already have. Whether you are celebrating a loved one, preserving a family legacy, or creating a meaningful heirloom, we would love to help bring your vision to life. Frequently Asked Questions
Is This a Photo or an oil Painting?

The Answer Is… Yes!

At Legacy Portraiture, we understand how important it is to capture the true likeness and unique character of your loved ones. Every detail matters, from the distinctive shape of their nose to the expression in their eyes. Even the slightest change can affect a person’s resemblance, which is why preserving their familiar features is at the heart of our process.

We begin with your photograph, carefully prepare it, and transfer it onto canvas as our foundation. Then, each portrait is hand painted with light oils, adding artistic depth, texture, and a beautiful finish for an artistic masterpiece. The result is a stunning, 100% hand painted light oil portrait that captures the essence of your loved one and becomes a treasured keepsake for generations to come.

How Much Do Portraits Cost?

It may be more affordable than you think! Every portrait is unique, so we offer a free phone or in-person consultation to learn about your vision and create a personalized quote. We’ll discuss the details that matter most to you, including whether you would like a professional photo session, a video session with a QR-code plaque, or to provide your own professional photographs. We’ll also explore your preferred canvas size and whether you would like a traditional frame or a gallery wrap.

Ready to learn more? Contact Scott Ferguson, our Account Manager, at 334-730-3560. Scott will walk you through the process, answer your questions, and prepare a quote tailored to your preferences. We look forward to helping you create a beautiful portrait that preserves your loved one’s legacy for generations to come!

How Long Does the Process Take?

Once your photograph has been selected and approved for transfer to the canvas, the process typically takes 4–6 weeks to complete, including painting and drying time. Our goal is to ensure your portrait receives the care and attention it deserves, resulting in a beautiful piece that you love.

If you are ordering a portrait as a gift for a special occasion, such as a birthday, anniversary, or holiday, please let us know as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your desired date. Please keep in mind that the timeline may vary depending on the number of requested changes before final approval. Prompt feedback and approval help us keep the process moving smoothly!
